It all started with a simple concept: a vacation shouldn’t be work.

Let me introduce myself. I’m a freelance writer and homeschooling mom of four special kids. The road to Take a Break Vacations started in September, 2010. Two of our children have autism spectrum disorders, and our family desperately needed a break from therapies, doctors, and the difficulties of day to day life with special needs kids. We chose Walt Disney World for our getaway, and that trip changed our lives.

In March 2011, I started writing at Return to Disney as a way to revisit that happy time. Soon I realized that the posts I most enjoyed were my Virtual Vacations – fantasy vacation itineraries that met a need for relief from the stress of everyday life. So many readers contacted me asking for help in planning their actual vacations that I knew the next logical step was to become a pro. As a travel agent, I have access and resources to plan customized vacation getaways for my clients.

Wife, mother of three, freelance writer.  Food lover and travel junkie.  I believe travel should be a way to escape the daily grind, expand your horizons, and leave you with memories that last a lifetime. I specialize in “experience” travel; my goal is to craft a vacation that caters to your passions, whether that means a romantic long weekend for two exploring museums in New York’s SoHo district or an eco-family adventure in Costa Rica.

Most importantly, no matter where you want to go, you can count on me to take care of all the details so all you have to do is relax and enjoy the experience
